Shodan Testing Reference Materials (Counters and Combos)
The Shodan Exam consists of a throwing portion, a kata portion, a grappling portion, a combination portion, and a counters portion. During conversations with senior kyu grade Judoka it has been voiced that the counters and combinations portions feel the least confident proceeding into exams.
While not every counter and combo on the exam is on display in the videos below; a great majority of them are and can be studied in their textbook kata forms. A link to the Shodan Exam can be found here and it should be noted that there are more combos and counters on display below than are required for promotion.
